My Story

My name is Dennis Kuik, Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a virtual private counseling practice working with individuals and couples.  In my early teens, I was greatly inspired by my mom (nurse) and my father (teacher/counselor) to help others.  I went on to get my Bachelor’s degree in Social Work and a Masters in Social Work from the Jane Addams School of Social Work.  I have worked in mental health in a residential setting, community mental health program, mental health courts, pain clinic, and as a behavioral health therapist in private practice. Through these experiences, I have worked with adults from age 19-80 with diagnoses such as; anxiety, depression, PTSD, and borderline personality disorder.

Experience:

Upon completing my Master’s degree, I worked in an adult residential setting with mental health issues. Following that I worked in the mental health and chemical dependency courts. After which I worked in a community health program that focused on adults with mental health issues.  For a brief period, I worked in an inpatient psychiatric unit.  In June 2019, I took a leap into the solo private practice on a parttime basis which moved to full-time in February 2020.
